Position Summary:
Assists the staff in radiology with the transporting of patients, room set up, cleaning equipment, and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

Education/Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of experience in providing patient care support duties in a clinical or hospital setting.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Additional Position Requirements

• A minimum of one (1) year of recent, documented experience in Radiology/Imaging setting, including:

• Experience with patient transfers, positioning, and transporting patients for diagnostic procedures
  
• Familiarity with radiology/imaging workflows
  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of:
General office procedures; department and hospital safety practices and principles; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.

Skill in:
Maintaining files; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
