The Position

The Board of Supervisors have authorized the following future salary increases for this classification:
5% on July 1, 2024 | 5% on July 1, 2025

Bargaining Unit: Local 856 - Health Services Unit

Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting individuals on a continuous basis to fill journey-level Physical Therapist positions. Therapists may be assigned to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and its Health Centers or the California Children Services Programs located throughout the County.

Physical Therapist II is a journey-level classification. Incumbents perform a full range of general therapy treatments while developing and learning the skills and knowledge necessary to apply more advanced and/or specialized treatments.

Typical Tasks



Minimum Qualifications

License Required: Possession and maintenance of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California.

Experience: Two years of full-time experience or its equivalent as a Physical Therapist.

Certification: Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or a CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation/fingerprint and/or physical exam may be required prior to the start of employment.

Applicants must submit a copy of a valid License Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California, a copy of a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association, or a CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross AND a completed supplemental questionnaire. An application submitted without a valid License and supplemental questionnaire will be considered incomplete and will therefore be disqualified.

Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

2. Training and Experience Evaluation : Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated. The responses to the supplemental questions, at the time of filing, will be evaluated to determine each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%)

CONVICTION HISTORY

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
