Comprehensive Care Licensed Vocational Nurse
Juvenile Health Services (JHS)

In addition to performance-based merit increases, this position is scheduled to receive a salary range increase on the following date:

Effective June 27, 2025 - 4.00% increase

Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above, based on position requirements and successful candidate's qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.

This recruitment is open to the public for a minimum of five (5) business days and will remain open on a continuous basis until 11:59p.m. (PST) on the day the County's needs are met. HEALTH CARE AGENCY
The County of Orange , Health Care Agency (HCA) is a dynamic organization dedicated to creating and supporting an environment that promotes the achievement of optimal individual, family and community health. Under the leadership of the Agency Director, a dynamic executive team with an organizational structure comprised of five (5) service areas - Strategy and Special Projects, Behavioral Health Services, Correctional Health Services, Medical Health Services and Public Health Services - is committed to meeting the health needs of the diverse Orange County community.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Correctional Health Services is recruiting for a Comprehensive Care Licensed Vocational Nurse (CCLVN) to provide basic health care to detained youth and/or the emergency shelter home population within the Juvenile Health Services (JHS) program. The JHS program provides medical, nursing, dental and pharmaceutical services to youth housed in the Probation Department's three Juvenile facilities and Social Services Agency's Orangewood Children and Family Center (OCFC).

JHS is a 24-hour, 7 days per week operation. Incumbents must be able to work days, weekends, evenings or night shifts, and holidays. Nursing personnel work 8-hour shifts, alternating weekends and holidays.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have one (1) or more years of experience providing nursing/medical care to pediatrics and adolescents, and recent acute care experience. The ideal candidate will also possess the knowledge, skills and abilities that demonstrate the following competencies:

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Human Resource Services (HRS) will screen all applications to identify qualified candidates. After screening, only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications will be referred to the next step in the selection procedures. Eligible List

Once the assessment has been completed, HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
