Job Description

The Engineer I will be the focal point of interface for most project work related to planning, RFQ/ RFP, engineering design and construction of city structures and facilities. They will report to the Senior Assistant City Engineer and will interface with all departments at the City, permitting and government agencies, suppliers, consultants, contractors, and residents in order to coordinate and supervise the performance of a project. They will be responsible for the successful execution of the work in regard to safety, budget, schedule and environmental compliance. They will also lead or support the preparation of scope of work and quality compliance requirements for RFP’s, and the evaluation of proposals from consultants and contractors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Civil Engineering, from a recognized University. A minimum of 2 years of experience overall project manager, IT project manager, or ERP project manager; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
