Position Summary

As a Student Services Advisor within the College of Health and Human Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting undergraduate students, primarily within the School of Public Health. Working closely with both lower and upper-division students, including first-year and transfer students, you’ll help shape their academic journeys from admission to graduation. Your expertise will contribute to their successful recruitment, retention, and academic progression.

Position Information

Department Summary

The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) faculty, through advising, teaching, and supervising, offers students a balanced education of academic study, field placement, clinical experiences, and research opportunities. CHHS consists of the following schools: the School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, the School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences, and the School of Public Health.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,841 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,841 - $6,884 per month.
