Introduction

This recruitment will be utilized to fill any Forensic Scientist position that has been designated as a Latent Prints specialty position in the Police Department. Please refer to the Minimum Qualification section of this posting to identify the different requirements for each specific level. Successful candidates will be identified for the specific level of Forensic Scientist based upon the qualifications listed on the application.

Anticipated salary may be up to mid-point depending on
candidate's experience and internal equity.

About The Position
The duties for the Forensic Scientist position in the Latent Print Unit will include analysis, comparison, and evaluation of complex latent print evidence and the examination, development, and preservation of latent prints on submitted evidence. Duties will also include writing detailed reports and testifying to the methods used and the conclusions reached and conducting the evaluation and quality review of analytical results and reports. On rare occasions, may provide technical assistance and expertise at major crime scenes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Forensic Scientist II :(full salary range - $75,046.40 - $101,400.00) Forensic Scientist Ill :(full salary range - $86,070.40 - $117,332.80)
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements: Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
