REVENUE AUDITOR

We are accepting applications for the position of Revenue Auditor in the General Government Department.

Examples of Work:

• Calculates, collects, and verifies applicable tax and revenue (i.e., business license, specials events, cigarette tax, lodging tax, liquor tax etc.)
• Inspects businesses in an assigned territory to determine business classification, tax liability, and if proper licenses are displayed
• Enforce state, county, and/or city laws concerning revenue and tax to ensure business compliance

Starting annual salary is $53,892 with excellent benefits including paid health, dental, and life insurance, retirement through State of Alabama Retirement Systems, disability income coverage, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave, and annual merit raises based on performance. Successful applicant must pass both a drug test and a background check, which includes driving record and criminal history

Education and/or Experience:

• Requires Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent and five (5) years of experience in a job related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Alabama Municipal Revenue Officers certification, Alabama Governmental Tax Analyst or Alabama Revenue Examiners Certification must be obtained within the first three (3) years of employment. The City of Foley pays for training.
