Are you ready the help families thrive and set children up for success? The Wake County Child Support Office seeks a professional, highly organized, dependable, customer friendly, detailed oriented, flexible, team player to join our Team as an Office Assistant.

Wake County partners with federal and state agencies, as well as community organizations, and employers to promote parental responsibility. Our goal is not only to help children receive the support they need and deserve from parents, but to share resources with parents to address barriers preventing the payment of support.

The Office Assistant position performs administrative duties of a responsible and confidential nature for a large staff in a fast-paced environment. By working as a team player this position is expected to produce quality work with close attention to detail. It will independently perform a moderate variety of tasks within specific work guidelines. Most of the time is spent performing administrative duties for a functional team of 11, to include an Assistant County Attorney in a fast-paced environment. The position requires general knowledge of office practices and procedures to review, verify, complete, and record general information in the Automated Collections Tracking System (ACTS). Duties within the public contact function involve interaction with clients, other employees and the public to gather, relay, and explain information to establish and update records or to determine eligibility for services.

Wake County Health & Human Services (WCHHS) is the consolidation of programs and services that include social services, public health, behavioral health, job search assistance, child support, housing and transportation. Our mission is, in partnership with the community, to facilitate full access to high quality and effective health and human services for Wake County residents. The Wake County Child Support Office is the second largest urban Child Support Services Program in the state. Wake County provides services to custodians of minor children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and cash and medical support obligations; enforcing and modifying support orders; and collecting and distributing child support payments. The legal, court, and financial related duties of the Child Support Program require a high degree of accuracy.

Emergency Service Worker Statement
