THE CITY OF WACO SEEKS:
The ideal candidate for this position is skilled in Geographical Information Systems software and will communicate effectively with the public, developers, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Business, Geography, Architecture, Public Administration, or a related field
• One year of customer service, planning, or related experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License

Position Overview
Under basic supervision, assists with various basic municipal planning projects for the Planning Services Department (PSD); assists PSD staff with planning, zoning, and transportation issues.

Position Responsibilities

• Researches and compiles data for urban planning projects, including plan review, zoning, subdivision plats, Historic Landmark Preservation Commission (HLPC), Plan Commission permits, and ordinances; duties may vary according to job assignment.
• Provides customer service and answers inquiries on City standards and regulations; assists advisory boards and commissions; provides information and recommendations within the scope of authority.
• Creates and updates maps and data files using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software.
