Children and Family Services (CFS) is recruiting for
Administrative Social Workers who provide assistance in the screening and delivery of social services to individuals and families who seek help resolving a variety of human services issues. Administrative Social Workers assist Social Workers and Social Service Practitioners in completing initial screenings and determining client eligibility for specific programs; interviewing clients to assess needs and providing assistance; researching and completing documentation for adoption finalization; preparing and tracking requests for clients; preparing, inputting, and processing documentation needed as part of the court ordered service plan. Administrative Social Workers within Children and Family Services may also supervise family visits, provide client transportation (short and long distances), and monitor and provide care for children during appointments or who are awaiting placement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, flexible, able to work with diverse populations, and has good communication skills.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Schedule: Shifts may include hours ranging from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Work Location: Incumbents will be assigned to work at a designated CFS office . Current vacancies exist in San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Victorville, Barstow, Needles, and Yucca Valley. The resulting list may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Indicate on the agency-wide questions all locations where you are willing to accept employment. Refusing a job offer due to location will result in removal from the list . Office locations may change due to space and department operational needs.
Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. Employees will be required to make provisions for transportation. A valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Lifting: Positions in CFS require the ability to lift and carry children weighing up to fifty (50) lbs.

Minimum RequirementsEducation: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in behavioral science, psychology, sociology, social services, human services, behavioral anthropology, gerontology, cultural and gender studies, human development or a closely related field. (
Note: Candidates with degree titles not specified above (e.g. Criminal Justice, Political Science, etc.) may be considered but must provide coursework for review ).
Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Proof of the required completed coursework and/or degree(s) will be required at the time of the interview.
Selection ProcessThere will be an

- Public Contact
- Interviewing/Interpersonal Skills
