ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Manager of General Aviation Airports position. This position is responsible for overseeing all Fixed Based Operator (FBO) activities to ensure safe and professional operations and exceptional customer service. Additionally, this position reports directly to the Managing Director of General Aviation and manages customer relations, aircraft servicing, ground handling, and high-volume special event planning with a primary focus on delivering “diamond level” customer service and proactive issue resolution. Individuals in this position will drive business growth through advanced technical, financial, and marketing expertise while fostering a culture of service that prioritizes personalized and seamless experiences. Further, this position demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and detail-oriented under pressure, ensuring continuous improvement and the highest standards of customer satisfaction at the Clark County's General Aviation airports, Henderson Executive Airport and North Las Vegas Airport.

This classification is designated exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is therefore, not eligible for overtime.This recruitment will be used to fill a position that will work at both Henderson Executive Airport, located at 3500 Executive Terminal Drive, Henderson, NV 89052 and North Las Vegas Airport, located at 2730 Airport Drive, North Las Vegas, NV 89032.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in business or public administration, aviation management, finance or a field related to the work, and three years of full-time supervisory experience in an airport operational setting. Direct experience in general aviation operations is desirable. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application. License and Certification: Must possess valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of hire.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.
Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. EXAMPLES OF DUTIESPlans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of professional, technical and customer support and field service and maintenance staff at assigned airport. Recommends selection of staff; trains staff and provides for their professional development; administers discipline as required. Plans and coordinates development activities for all general aviation airports to which assigned; confers with contract design and construction staff; creates and directs outreach and expansion programs, including maintaining liaison with various aviation associations in the Las Vegas area. Ensures that all airport operations and maintenance activities performed in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations. Supervises customer service and line service activities through subordinate supervision; directs the provision of information to patrons regarding services and costs. Contributes to the overall quality of the department's service provision by developing and coordinating work teams and by reviewing, recommending and implementing improved policies and procedures. Prioritizes and allocates available resources; reviews and evaluates program and service delivery. Resolves customer complaints and disputes; maintains liaison with community groups and others to maximize service delivery. Provides for 24-hour, 7-day emergency response; responds to such emergencies and directs activities. Directs the conduct of and personally conducts analytical studies; develops and reviews reports of findings, alternatives and recommendations; directs the maintenance of accurate records and files. Prepares and directs the preparation of a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures and other written materials. Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; drives a personal or County motor vehicle to attend meetings and visit off-site locations.
