Description
Description The Epidemiologist I performs epidemiological investigation activities related to collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting illness data collected as part of the public health preparedness and emergency response team.
Examples of Duties Assists with the development, maintenance, and analysis of a standard data collection system.
Performs statistical analysis of health data and reviews data results and reports for completeness and accuracy.
Conduct interviews and investigate outbreaks of infectious disease, coordinating closely with the Epidemiologist II and Chief Epidemiologist.
Secures and analyzes data, prepares literature, graphs, and demonstrations concerning epidemiology disease control; and compiles and maintains related reports.
Presentation and publication of data and epidemiologic findings informing public health staff, partners, and the public.
Prepares periodic reports summarizing the incidence of infectious disease.
Investigates the origin of infectious diseases, establishes disease control procedures and provides epidemiological guidance to partners and stakeholders.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum two years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
Other specific certifications related to the area of assignment may be required for this position.
Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.

$64,189.00 - $74,459.00 Annually
