Description THIS POSITION MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME ONCE A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. The Program Coordinator performs a variety of professional and technical public health work. This position works to favorably influence overall community health status by providing comprehensive and coordinated health education programs to county residents, informing residents of health risk factors and evaluating, organizing, promoting, and implementing health risk reduction strategies through wellness programs and community wellness promotion.

Encourages wellness and prevention.
Completes assigned reports in a timely manner.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Maintains comprehensive program records and prepares reports highlighting activities and program accomplishments for federal and state programs. Plans, develops, and delivers training for a broad range of professionals and community audiences.
Periodically develops fact sheets and other threat specific material for public distribution before, during or after a disease outbreak or health emergency.
May assist in the development of program implementation plans to fulfill funding requirements.
Coordinates with local school districts, hospitals, emergency response professionals and members of the community as appropriate for specific threats.
Investigates the occurrence of communicable diseases and/or tracks and maintains supply resources needed to respond to public health emergencies.
As member of the Health Emergency Alert Response Team, provides support in responding to HEART events and disaster responses.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum two years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
Other specific certifications related to the area of assignment may be required for this position.
Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.

$64,189.00 - $74,459.00 Annually
