Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision of the Center’s Project Managers, the GIS Analyst is responsible for a variety of duties that include but are not limited to performing spatial analysis, documentation development, tracking and overseeing task-specific progress, training and supervising interns, performing development tasks using Python, engaging in data editing and data development, performing QA/QC tasks, and creating both web-based and static maps. The GIS Analyst is expected to have an advanced understanding of GIS, an in-depth knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS products, and development/programming experience. The GIS Analyst will also perform other related duties as assigned.
- Workflow and documentation development
- GIS map creation, spatial analysis, and data development.
- Project oversight and QA/QC tasks Intern training and supervision
- Development and automation tasks
- Other administrative activities & file management
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: - 2+ years of related paid work experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of concepts related to GIS (e.g., map projections, cartography best practices, data processing, data and file management, spatial analysis).
- In-depth knowledge of Esri's ArcGIS software (e.g., Pro, ArcGIS Online) and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrable skills in spatial data creation and editing.
- Development and management of web-based mapping applications.
- Fundamental understanding of relational database design concepts.
- Strong knowledge of and experience working with Python.
- Attention to detail and a deep understanding of methods to ensure data and project integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks.

The anticipated hiring range:
$25.38 - $35.00/hour Time Base:
