Position Summary

As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients.

We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status.

Responsible for overseeing streamlined operation of IT Applications solutions for Epic Access and Revenue Cycle applications/technologies, as well as third party integration support. Plans and manages all aspects of design, implementation and maintenance of applications to effectively apply technology solutions to improve core functions of business operation applications. Contributes to the development of hospital performance improvement strategies.

Job Requirement

Education/Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Science, Computer Science, Informatics, Business Administration, or closely related field and five (5) years leading and managing EPIC/EHR implementations and enhancement experience in areas such as clinical data repositories, revenue cycle workflow, registration workflow, clinical documentation, computerized order entry/results reporting, and physician access systems.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Current active certification in specific EPIC product(s).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or an eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
