Job Location: Division of Professional Registration, 3605 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109. This is an in office position.
Why you’ll love this position: The Division of Professional Registration is looking for a highly motivated self-starter with considerable knowledge of graphic art methods and general principles of layout and design, as applied to promotional and informational materials; familiarity with designing materials for print, and knowledge of typesetting principles and methods. This position will allow the candidate to use their creative skills while building partner relationships. Candidate must have working knowledge of computer graphic programs on MAC platform in the Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat); knowledge of computer file formats for print and web applications; and the ability to translate the varied activities of an agency or program into visual form. Candidate must excel at effective written and verbal communication skills; have detail-oriented work ethic; be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, make routine decisions, organize workflow, establish priorities and deadlines; work within established chain of command.
What you’ll do: - Responsible for bringing creative solutions to communication challenges.
- Gather, compile and edit information for newsletters, brochures, articles, bulletins, pamphlets and other publications for various licensing boards and commissions.
- Design digital graphics.
- Modify graphic artwork to prepare for printing; typesetting forms according to established form standards.
- Manage files, photos and histories of various work.
- Photograph various events and people.
- Copy-edit materials written by others and submit for publication.
- Complete print requisitions to order printed material.
- Work collaboratively on central department communications projects and have ability to work as a part of a creative team.
What we are looking for: Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree and zero or more years of relevant experience in a creative role closely related to graphic design. (Substitutions will be allowed).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize several projects at a time
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications - Other communication skills such as web skills, photography, journalism, marketing, etc are pluses.
- Ability to think outside the box
- Enjoys working and engaging with all types of people and personalities.
