Our internship offers you an opportunity to receive meaningful work experience in the field of Public Administration. You will perform entry-level tasks while taking part in opportunities to develop skills and participate in projects that affect the lives of Missourians.
The internship schedule is flexible at 20-40 hours per week, within standard business hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (no weekends) and generally lasts through the end of July. The program aims to cultivate a pool of diverse talent that includes people of populations currently underrepresented in the State workforce.
Note: This position will primarily support the Talent Acquisition and Talent Development teams. Additional support may be requested by other teams within the Division of Personnel as the need arises. Interviews will take place in February/March with a start date of May 16, 2025 or June 2, 2025.
Talent Acquisition (TA) Duties: - Assist with reviewing presentations and projects for accuracy, accessibility and compliance.
- Draft verbiage for social media posts; make suggestions to enhance marketing and outreach efforts.
- Aid with statewide hiring events by developing/gathering materials and attending.
- Support general TA business operations with data entry, reports, etc.
- Create and improve standard process guides for Talent Acquisition standard operating procedures.
Talent Development Duties: - Assist with reviewing presentations on various learning and development topics.
- Gain a broad perspective of various statewide initiatives that the Talent Development team oversees, from leadership development and appreciation efforts to behavioral assessments and mentorship opportunities.
- Opportunity to work with team members and leadership from across the State of Missouri executive departments.
- Assist with researching industry best practices and recent topic trends to improve our current programing.
- Analyze current project processes and create detailed processes map to accurately depict workflows.
- Perform accurate data entry tasks related to learner assignments in the learning management system.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to curate and manage self-paced professional development content.
Other Duties: - Assist other teams within the Division of Personnel on various projects, surveys, and tasks as needed.
- Work may include maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data and/or information.
- Other learning opportunities as needed.
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications: - The ability to work as part of a team and learn from others.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Interns must be a recent high school/GED graduate, or currently enrolled in a professional or advanced college/degree program.
