SummaryMinimum Starting Salary: $19.6372 per hour The City of Waco Seeks: The City of Waco seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Survey Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in surveying, with a focus on fieldwork and technical analysis. As a Senior Survey Technician, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating field crews, performing land surveys, and providing support to the project team in a variety of surveying-related tasks.
Minimum Qualifications; Required: - H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 2 years field experience in surveying.
- Texas Driver’s License
Preferred: - Registered Professional Land Surveyor
Position Description: Under basic supervision, leads a field crew performing technical field surveys for Public Works design, maintenance, land mapping and construction projects.
Essential Functions: - Coordinates work and delegates tasks for field survey crew; assures the accuracy of data collected; performs technical civil engineering survey work, using special survey instruments and equipment.
- Works with a field survey crew to collect and compile survey measurements and observations, measure bearings and distances and provide measurements from survey control points.
- Performs surveys on City infrastructure; performs mathematical calculations for construction staking and layout.
- Collects and verifies field survey data, GPS coordinates and control points; maintains accurate notes, records and logs; maintains and updates maps and records; performs survey data calculations.
