Description
Job Summary This position is responsible for contributing to multimedia production for Beach 2030 in the Office of Future Planning. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and pre- and post-production of videos, photography, and audio for web and communications channels.
Key Responsibilities - Supports, develops and produces video and digital media content for web hosting and other communication integration for the Office of Future Planning. Strategizes and develops multimedia content and interactive features included in video content. Assists with all aspects of pre- and post-production of multimedia-rich digital storytelling.
- Assists the Provost and Vice Provost of Academic Planning with development of video materials for promoting projects and initiatives with campus-wide impact. Helps to strategize, maximize, and coordinate resources and creative ideas where possible.
- Performs maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment working properly.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Have knowledge in video production, including pre- and post-production development of digital content Have skills in photography. Have DSLR experience. Skill in creating and art-directing digital graphics. Skill in creating audio and video streaming using streaming services, Flash, Quicktime, XML or other technology. Ability to utilize multi-media technical and production management skills to effectively craft and communicate a message that will result in a significant, positive impact on the receiver. Ability to effectively utilize team members in the creation and final delivery of successful product. Strong interpersonal skills including flexibility, tact and diplomacy to work and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and production personnel. Effective oral and written communications skills to interpret clients' needs and develop program outline and content. Must have working knowledge with Adobe Premier, or other software editing program.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree and six months of related professional or technical experience in multimedia, video production and editing.
Physical Summary Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $2,208- $3,950 per month.
Benefits Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base Part Time-Base, 0.6 FT
Duration of Appointment This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
