This position will be located at 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65102.
As an Environmental Specialist, you will be protecting our Natural Resources by ensuring the Missouri Clean Water Law and implementing regulations in the Central Field Operations region.
- Schedule and conduct inspections, investigations, and provide compliance assistance to wastewater and stormwater facilities within the Central Field Operations region.
- Conduct water monitoring and sampling during inspections and investigations.
- Prepare documentation (reports, concerns, correspondence, photographs, and forms) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to other duties as assigned, including investigating environmental emergencies in the field such as sanitary sewer overflows and fish kills.
- Writing : Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct, brief, clear and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience.
- Reasoning : Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
- Customer Service : Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.
- Environmental Science : Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods to protect and improve the quality of the environment and its resources; and to monitor, control, abate, and prevent pollutants.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a science major or a non-science major with 30 hours of science coursework. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
- Experience relevant to the position, such as fieldwork, lab work, inspections, business writing, technical writing

Salary:
$45,072-$54,720 per Year
