FULL TIME PSYCHOLOGISTSt. Louis Forensic Treatment Center - North Campus (FTC-N), a Missouri Department of Mental Health forensic inpatient facility, has a position for a licensed or license-eligible psychologist. The position is currently open with start date negotiable.

What you’ll do: St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center - North Campus (FTC-N) seeks a doctoral level Psychologist to serve as a Certified Forensic Examiner (CFE) and conduct court-ordered outpatient forensic evaluations of adult criminal defendants, as well as inpatient forensic evaluations of adults committed to the Department of Mental Health as incompetent to stand trial. Serving a large area of the state, the CFE will evaluate criminal defendants from a highly diverse catchment area that includes rural, urban, and suburban populations. The CFE position offers the opportunity for flexibility through remote or hybrid work.
The psychologist hired as a CFE must be licensed and will be supervised by an experienced forensic psychologist to become certified as a forensic examiner for the Department of Mental Health within the first year of employment. Mentoring for board certification in forensic psychology is also available. The psychologist must demonstrate considerable knowledge and skill in diagnostic interviewing; the administration, scoring, and interpretation of a range of forensically-relevant psychological tests and actuarial instruments; and the communication of detailed findings and opinions to the court in the form of written reports and testimony. The psychologist will conduct evaluations regarding a range of pretrial issues (e.g., competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility), sentencing/probation revocation issues, violence risk, and evaluations pursuant to the Sexually Violent Predator Act.

- Licensure as a Psychologist, or license eligibility in Missouri.
- If not licensed at time of hire, must attain license within 12 months.
- Experience with conducting forensic evaluations, particularly adjudicative competency evaluations.
