Recreation Lead - Doris Miller Community Center
Description
SummaryMinimum Starting: $19.63 per hour - Depending on Qualifications Job Summary Under close supervision, assists in the delivery of City recreation programs and events.
Minimum Qualifications Required: - HS Diploma or GED
- 2 years of Recreation experience
- Associates Degree in a related field can substitute for years of experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Lifeguard Certification - required within 60 days
- Food Handlers Card - required within 180 days
Preferred: Essential Functions - Provides and promotes recreation activities and events for City residents; sets up recreation sites and facilities for events and scheduled programs; maintains equipment and facilities in clean and safe conditions duties may vary according to job assignment.
- Provides first point of contact for customer service.
- Organizes recreation activities, supervises program participants and enforces rules, regulations and safety precautions at indoor and outdoor facilities; maintains discipline, monitors behavior and resolves issues.
- Develops promotional media for events and special programs; tutors youth and assists with schoolwork.
- Reports and resolves complaints, requests, safety conditions, security issues and illegal activities.
- Assists with the development and revision of pool policies, procedures, and forms.
- Maintains safety during all aquatic lessons, classes and programming.
- Supervises the enforcement of rules and regulations relating to pool and fitness activities.
- Ensures the safe operation of the pool, filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water tests.
- May serve as the back-up lifeguard for pool performing lifeguarding duties.
