Position DescriptionDesigns, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.
Major/Essential FunctionsThe primary purpose of this position is to direct the daily administrative activities of the F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health Workforce Development Group and the AHEC Program. This includes tracking programmatic progress, managing grant activities, and overseeing staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Will provide direction for the assessment and evaluation of the AHEC program.
- Build relationships with contract agents, personnel, and stakeholders regarding Institute/Program activities.
- Assists with the monitoring of program activities and facilitates effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributes to reports and summaries of activities, grant-sponsored research and scheduling.
- Assists with oversight of day-to-day operations of the WTAHEC program and the supervisory oversight of staff members.
- Contributes to preparing abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, and other written documentation as required.
- Assures that projects comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Travel as needed to meet the goals and objectives of the WTAHEC program or other grant activities.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
