Oversees a major storekeeping area such as the canteen operations/commissary operations/clothing storeroom/perishable food storeroom; serves as an assistant to a supply manager in the operation of a warehouse
Receives and unpacks incoming inventory items; inspects for quality, quantity, and conformance with specifications; rejects shipments not meeting indicated specifications; and certifies receipts in order to authorize payment to vendors; labels and places inventory items in appropriate storage areas; rotates as necessary
Orders inventory using established specifications to replenish stock; purchases emergency items; Develops storekeeping methods and procedures to ensure efficiency; establishes inventory levels and reorder points based on usage and delivery lead times to ensure adequate supply
Monitors temperature/humidity/other environmental factors in storage areas for perishable goods; Transfers and sells surplus property; fills requisitions; prepares items to be delivered or shipped; makes necessary transportation arrangements
Operates a cash register; counts money; prices items; places merchandise on shelves; maintains computerized and/or manual records of inventory items received/stored/issued/ordered/returned/ disposed/ sold; takes physical inventories to determine quantities on hand and/or reconcile records
Operates forklifts/pallet jacks/other material handling equipment; maintains clean and orderly storage/stores areas
Leads and/or supervises staff, offenders, and/or residents engaged in loading/unloading/storing/ distributing inventory items; exercises discretion and independence in the performance of responsibilities within established policies and procedures; receives general administrative direction from a Supply Manager or from another administrative supervisor; performs other related work as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: One or more years of experience as a Stores/Warehouse Assistant with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System;
AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
ORThree or more years of experience maintaining inventory items and related records;
AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year)
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
