Under general administrative direction from the City Manager, the Economic Development Director is responsible for directing the activities of the City’s Economic Development Program. Primary duties of this key position include, but are not limited to, the full management responsibility for the development, administration, and implementation of comprehensive economic development programs and activities including business development, assistance programs, and the City’s various incentive zones. The City of Fresno is seeking an experienced, innovative professional who can grow and diversify the City’s economic base to serve as the new Economic Development Director. The City is looking for someone with a record of effectively leveraging resources and implementing sustainable economic development programs that demonstrably improve the community. The ideal candidate personifies sound judgment and character, and is consistently solution oriented, responsive, and proactive.

 

The annual salary range for the Economic Development Director is $136,668 up to $215,748; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
