Deputy District Attorney I-IV
Description
The District Attorney of Solano County invites you to apply for the position of Deputy District Attorney I-IV. Deputy District Attorneys practice criminal and civil law in the prosecution of individuals accused of violating state and/or local laws.
Prior felony jury trial experience in any one or more of the following Major Crimes areas, such as: homicide, sexual assault, gangs, domestic violence, human trafficking and career criminal is desirable.
Position RequirementsEXPERIENCE Deputy District Attorney I ($7,926.70-9,634.95/month): no experience is required, however, applicants must demonstrate possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities.
Deputy District Attorney II ($10,728.33 - $13,040.43/month): a minimum of six months of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney I or its equivalent which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Three years experience in the general practice of law may be substituted for the six months of criminal law experience.
Deputy District Attorney III ($12,337.65- $14,996.56/month): a minimum of one year of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney II or its equivalent (a total of 1.5 years of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney) which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Four years experience in the general practice of law may be substituted for the two years of criminal law experience.
Deputy District Attorney IV ($14,191.11 - $17,249.38/month): a minimum of one year of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney III or its equivalent (a total of 2.5 years of criminal prosecution and trial experience as a Deputy District Attorney) which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Five years experience in the general practice of law may be substituted for the three years criminal law experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSAll levels of Deputy District Attorney: Active membership in the California State Bar Association is required.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license may be required.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214, SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4), MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE FINAL FILING DATE (or APPLICATION REVIEW DEADLINE). Veteran applicants for initial County employment with an honorable or general under conditions discharge shall receive five (5) points added to their combined score.
