ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Department of Finance is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as a Senior Payroll Technician, located within the Comptroller's Office. The Comptroller's Office is the central coordinating financial agency of Clark County, responsible for both external and internal financial reporting as well as the processing and maintenance of all official accounting records. This position will be participating in preparation of the County's payroll for all employees, assisting with computing and processing payroll adjustments, preparing and reconciling monthly reports, processing payroll deductions and direct deposits, preparing tax documents, processing payroll tax deposits and payments, and researching records to verify wages as needed.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school AND four (4) years of full-time accounting or financial office clerical experience. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
