Description
The Transporatation & Public Works Department has an opening for a Part-Time Asset Management Tech.
The Asset Management Tech performs a variety of work related to the technical aspects and computer applications in public works asset management. This position is responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain an asset management system that ensures the sustainability of the City’s infrastructure.
Additionally, this position oversees the review of right-of-way permits and conducts field inspections to ensure compliance with permitting requirements. The incumbent will manage and coordinate physical inspections, evaluations, and ratings of Public Works infrastructure as part of developing a proactive maintenance and replacement program. Coordination with vendors and contractors on replacement schedules is also a key responsibility.
Job responsibilities include: - Identifies asset management needs and works closely with the Public Works (PW) department to develop and maintain a database for managing and tracking information.
- Establishes and maintains data and pertinent records; prepares statistical and narrative reports to assist all Public Works infrastructure in asset grouping, routing, preventative maintenance scheduling, replacement schedules, activity-based costing task management, historical trend analysis of work orders, and other reports as needed; tracks and closes out service requests and work orders as needed.
- Reviews and issues right-of-way construction permits and conducts field visits to ensure compliance with the issued permits.
- May require working outdoors to inspect and gather data related to various streets and traffic infrastructure assets, including but not limited to street signs, pavement markings, school flasher signs, streets, storm manholes & inlets, etc.
- Provides technical graphics, mapping, and as-built documentation and assists staff members as required.
- Organizes and prioritizes tasks and works independently on projects.
- Evaluates construction plans and sites to determine locating and mapping needs.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED equivalent. • Must have a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
