Position Summary:

Plans, organizes, and administers supply chain program. Responsible for procuring materials, supplies, services, and equipment. Receives, stores, and distributes supplies and mail to customer units. Manages the supply chain function for the surgical services department, value analysis program, and courier services.

Job Requirement

Education/Experience:

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Business or three (3) years experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management ; and two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of:

Leadership and managerial theories and principles; strategic planning theories and principles; of supply chain functions; conflict resolution techniques; staff scheduling and work flow analysis; federal, state and local laws, regulations and laws applicable to assigned areas of responsibility; principles of budgeting, purchasing and management and retention of public records; principles and practices of cost/schedule controls; department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.

Skill in:

Developing and enforcing departmental policies and procedures; planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing and evaluating the work of others, training staff, analyzing and interpreting complex regulations, procedures and specifications and purchasing documents; executing compliance related corrective action plans; coordinating purchasing and replacing equipment and supplies; using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines, reading and interpreting purchase requests, specifications; evaluating and developing conclusions and recommendations on complex management and administrative issues; presenting proposals and recommendations clearly and logically; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain seated for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
