This position is with the Department of Transportation, Information Systems Division, providing support to the department's divisions/districts for delivery of the best IT solutions for a safe, stable, and reliable transportation system in Missouri.
What you’ll do: - Assists end users with application/system requests as reported by customers/partners including troubleshooting, diagnosing, answering questions, providing solutions, and documenting problems and resolutions.
- Writes, tests, documents, and updates configurations, installations, upgrade procedures, and operator instructions for software applications, servers, and workstations.
- Participates in technical IT projects for assigned systems/applications; performs tasks timely, analyzes and evaluates new vendor software/hardware systems/applications; develops, writes, tests, and documents new applications, software/hardware, databases, and programs.
- Assists in coordination and planning with department personnel, management team, committees, and other agencies to recommend solutions for current or future application needs and systems compatibility issues.
All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications - 60 credit hours toward a related Bachelor's Degree, or
- Associate’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, or
- High School Diploma or GED/HiSET, and two years of experience in computer systems, repairs, and operations
Special Working Conditions: - Job requires occasional after-hours work.
- Hybrid telework option may be considered after a successful probationary period. Full-time telework is not available.
Preferred Qualifications - Understanding of SQL and relational databases (Oracle and SQL)
- Understanding of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
- Understanding of web application servers (IIS, WebSphere, Apache, WebLogic) and client/server architecture
- Eager to learn & be a team player
- Hard work ethic & great personality
