The Human Resources Department is seeking an experienced human resources professional who is enthusiastic about working with people, excels at providing exceptional client services, and wants to be a part of a high-performing workplace. The Senior Human Resources Analyst performs a wide variety of complex professional level human resources work which may include the areas of Employee Benefits, Classification & Compensation, Recruitment/Selection, and/or Employee Relations.

As a Senior Human Resources Analyst, you'll work closely with your assigned department leadership to explore and implement human resources solutions that positively impact the organization. T his position will support the Fire Department.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $92,580.80/annually.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Five years' professional level human resources experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
• Preferred:
  • Relevant human resources certifications.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Human Resources experience supporting a Fire Department.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements

• Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Essential Functions

• Prepares and coordinates recruitment and selection processes by attending job fairs, posting jobs, screening applications, reviewing interview questions, performing reference checks, and preparing offer letters; responds to EEOC charges; conducts employee relation investigations and consultations; provides consultation on corrective action and disciplinary matters.
• Generates and inputs accurate information into the Human Resources Information System(s) and utilizes other relevant technology resources.
• Performs proficiently in the use of Microsoft office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
• Utilizes effective facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Develops and delivers presentations and trainings on a wide variety of human resources topics to diverse audiences.
• Works towards a positive outcome with confidential and emotional situations and assignments.
• Case manages complex and highly sensitive employee-related issues.
• Researches, interprets, and explains complex issues, reports, rules, regulations, policies and laws.
• Administers regulatory programs and oversees compliance of assigned programs.
• Demonstrates positive, responsive, and timely customer service.
• Provides thoughtful and thorough analysis, draws conclusions and makes recommendations.
• Handles multiple projects simultaneously and uses good judgment in prioritizing work assignments.
• Writes clear and concise reports and develops descriptive materials for management review.
• Ensures the accurate completion of necessary documentation, forms, memos, and reports through partnerships with assigned divisions/departments.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with City officials, City staff at all levels, and the general public.
• Provides professional advice on the development and implementation of HR goals, objectives, plans, and programs.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• May have the ability to work remotely, as needed.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Travel to/from meetings and various City locations.
