This position will report to and assist with work at
Rock Bridge Memorial State Park , 5901 S. Highway 163, Columbia , MO 65203 . Primary work duties will be assisting with maintenance on the
Mid-West section of the Katy Trail which goes from
Pilot Grove to Mokane. This position typically works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Shifts may vary occasionally with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility.
• Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair or alteration of state buildings and facilities. Work area includes Katy Trail State Park.
• Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds.
• Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
• Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
• Basic computer and customer service skills for timekeeping and regular report tracking.
• Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed; including c ompletion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
• May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
As a special requirement, this position is required to possess and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within the first six months of hire into the position.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair

Salary:
$38,771.32-$39,036.00 per Year
