Role

Under minimal supervision, oversees the programming and development of department-specific and web-based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications. Works with various county departments as necessary to develop coordinated GIS data sets.

Major Duties, Responsibilities



Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Geographic Information Systems and/or GIS application development programming languages (NET, Visual Basic, Pyton, JavaScript, HTML). An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis.

Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license. Must complete FEMA Emergency Operations Center courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800, IS-60, IS-61, IS-62, IS-63, and IS-922 within 6 months of employment.

The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
