As an integral part of our tight-knit Human Resources team, the Human Resources Technician will support our day-to-day operations and have opportunities to take on challenging projects, improve our processes, and help shape the future of our organizational culture. Our Human Resources team currently has six members, and the Human Resources Technician will be the seventh.

Under supervision, the Human Resources Technician performs a variety of specialized duties in support of the City’s Human Resources Division; provides assistance to employees on a variety of topics, such as onboarding and benefits; assists in the recruitment and selection process; establishes and maintains personnel files; and performs related work as required.

The Human Resources Technician position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with part-time telework.

Human Resources Technician I (entry-level class in the HR Technician series)

Under close supervision, incumbents perform a variety of specialized technical support within the Human Resources Department. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise.

Human Resources Technician II (journey-level class in the HR Technician series)

Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative while performing the full range of specialized technical support within the Human Resources Department. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

Salary Information:

Human Resources Technician I: $73,782 - $89,682 annually
Human Resources Technician II: $81,160 - $98,651 annually
