Position Duties

The Department of Transportation is currently seeking to fill 1 vacancy for the Engineer I/II position on the Pavement/Bridge/ADA Curb Ramps Engineering & Management . This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions in the future in other divisions or departments. The total salary range for the Engineer I/II classification is $48.37 to $69.43 hourly or $100,616.88 to $144,406.08 annually. This amount includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

Infrastructure Maintenance (IM) Division - Pavement/ADA Curb Ramps/Bridge Engineering
Pavement/Bridge/ADA Curb Ramps Engineering plays a critical role in the maintenance and rehabilitation of approximately 2,500 (30-ft equivalent) miles of pavement, overseeing the maintenance of approximately 250 bridges, and over 29,000 ADA curb ramps citywide. The Engineer I/II position for the Pavement Engineering group is responsible for delivering the City’s annual pavement maintenance projects with an annual budget of over $90 million per year. This position reports directly to an Associate Engineer and supervises Engineering Technicians and interns.
