The Release of Information Specialist (ROI) provides support to departments, programs, and services for patients with mental illness.

This is a highly responsible position that requires an individual to apply laws, rules/regulations and exclusions governing confidentiality of medical records and release of patient information. This position will be responsible for evaluating, screening and processing all outside requests for release of patient records ensuring the information released is in compliance with existing laws. This position is also required to facilitate meetings and train/advise ward clerks in CIMOR and filing duties. This position manages, schedules and takes minutes for hospital wide meetings required for meeting TJC standards and CMS regulations.

The ROI Specialist must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the federal, state, HIPPA and hospital policies in regard to privacy of patient health information.
