THE POSITION **Although there is a salary range for this position, salary will be negotiated depending on experience.**This recruitment will be used to establish an open competitive and promotional eligibility list that may be used to fill this vacancy and vacancies occurring in this classification for a minimum period of six (6) months. REQUIREMENTSEducation and Work Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Engineering or a field related to the work, and six (6) years of full-time experience in the construction, maintenance and repair of facilities, two (2) years of which was in supervisory role within the past 24 months.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License at the time of application.
Background Investigation: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon the results of a comprehensive background investigation, including qualifying education/experience verification, social security trace, criminal history records review, and driving history records check.
Medical Examination:Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician. A pre-employment drug test is part of the examination.

• Ability to manage building software controls
• Demonstrated experience in HVAC, evaporative cooling, forced air & central plant
• Ability to oversee & manage multiple high-priority projects with a strong technical expertise
• Experience in managing multiple facilities & overseeing operations across several locations
• Demonstrated experience leading & managing a team of facility trades professionals, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and carpenters
PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical ability to perform construction, maintenance and related work, including operating computers and office machinery; stamina to sit for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 70 pounds; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Work is subject to exposure to fumes, chemicals and solvents.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIESManages, plans, and directs the activities and operations of assigned technical staff, custodial services and contractors. Inspects buildings, equipment, utility systems, and facilities to determine needed repairs and maintenance; inspects buildings to ensure that they are kept clean and in presentable condition. Supports the oversight of multiple facilities, ensuring maintenance schedules, preventive maintenance programs, contractor coordination, and compliance with safety regulations. Supports multiple high priority projects with targeted completion dates, attention to details and accuracy, ensuring timely maintenance and custodial work. Reviews maintenance reports and work orders to determine materials, labor and time requirements; prioritizes and coordinates duties and assignments to ensure effective workflow. Establish and monitor work policies, procedures and standards; train assigned staff accordingly and enforce corrective action as required. Manage preventative maintenance of HVAC, CNG fueling facilities and charging stations. Prepares and maintains records, logs, and reports related to activities, inventory, MSDS documentation, work requests, accident and safety issues. Oversee safety responsibilities for areas assigned and ensure that direct reports are trained on safety procedures, fully compliant with procedures, and held accountable for breaches in safety and security protocol. Operates a variety of office equipment, to include computers and associated software. Assists with preparing and managing the department budget. Manages multiple projects/deliverables with short targeted completion dates. Oversee the work of contractors, evaluating performance against contractual requirements. Other duties as assigned.
GROUP INSURANCE - Health and dental insurance is available at a minimal expense to eligible employees, spouses and dependents. The RTC pays the monthly life insurance premium for eligible employees.
SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY INSURANCE - Eligible employees are covered by a Workman’s Compensation Program in accordance with the provisions of the Nevada Industrial Insurance Act (NRS Chapter 616) and the Nevada Occupational Diseases Act (NRS 617).
LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE - The RTC pays a monthly premium toward a long-term disability plan for eligible employees.
VACATION - Vacation leave accrual is based on length of RTC employment. Employee credited with 20 days of annual leave or a prorated portion thereof at the beginning of employment. Accrual will change to 25 days per year after 10 years of service.
SHORT TERM DISABILITY PLAN - A Short Term Disability policy is provided to Management employees at no cost.
PARENTAL LEAVE - Management employees can request up to two weeks of paid leave in conjunction with the birth or adoption of a child.
RETIREMENT - Full-time employees become a member of the Nevada State Public Employees Retirement System under an employer paid plan.
CREDIT UNION - Clark County employees and their families are eligible to join the Clark County Credit Union.
ANNUAL PHYSICAL - Managers will be reimbursed for one comprehensive medical examination every twelve (12) months not to exceed $500.00.
FMLA - Employees who have worked for the RTC for at least one year, and have worked at least 1,250 hours over the preceding 12 months are eligible for the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act.
