The Division or Finance and Administrative Services (DFAS) is seeking applications for a Senior Accountant to join our Grants and Cost Allocation Unit located in Cole County.

Annual Salary: $67,721.28

Job Location: This position will be located at the Broadway State Office Building; 221 West Hight St., 3rd Floor, Jefferson City, MO.

The Division of Finance and Administrative Services-Grants and Cost Allocation Unit is the Department’s financial team responsible for cost allocation and financial grant reporting. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the team and play a key role in developing cost allocation plans and processes that support the Department and further it’s mission. In this position, you will use your analytical and communication skills to prepare the Department’s Public Assistance Cost Allocation Plan (PACAP), Cost Impact Statement (CIS) and other supporting documents for federal agency review and approval on a quarterly basis.

The work hours for this position are 8:00 to 5:00, Monday through Friday.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and submit the PACAP, CIS and all other supporting documents to respective federal agencies for review and approval on a quarterly basis.

• Work with Divisional Fiscal Liaisons, Human Resources and other stakeholders to understand and define organizational structure and financial impact as it relates to cost allocation.

• Identify appropriate allocation methodologies to maximize federal reimbursement.

• Direct or assist in the development, implementation and/or revision of new or existing policies, practices and procedures related to cost allocation.

• Respond to inquiries regarding the PACAP, cost allocation methodologies, federal financial participation or other related to cost allocation including accurate and timely state and federal audit resolution.

• Maintain a highly organized and accurate audit trail supporting all PACAP submissions.

• Provide cost allocation related training to Divisional Fiscal Liaisons, Human Resources, stakeholders, sub-recipients and other parties, as assigned and necessary.

• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Public or Business Administration or closely related field; and, four or more years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
