Minimum Qualifications Required:- Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Project Management, or a related field.
- 6 years experience in construction and/or project management.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Texas Driver's License
Position Overview Under general supervision, manages renovation and construction of City facilities, buildings, and building systems; manages contractors, contracts, and special projects; coordinates work with design and engineering consultants and contractors. Supervises and coordinates the work of the Facilities Project Manager. Assures effective communication of Facilities issues, determines priorities of projects. Manages project budgets and expenditures; develops and manages project scope, specifications, schedules, and budgets. Monitors work sites to assure that safety rules and regulations are followed and that the work zones and equipment meet safety standards. Assures Facilities project activities and procedures are in compliance with all laws, policies, regulations, and standards
Essential Functions - Manages facility construction projects through all phases from initial project assignment to completion according to project schedules, budgets, state and federal regulations and City standards; coordinates work of outside contractors; assures projects meet City goals and compliance standards.
- Manages design and construction activities for development; coordinates, monitors, and manages Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) development projects in cooperation with other departments, outside agencies and contractors; assures projects meet design and budge goals and schedules.
- Oversees work performed by contractors; inspects project work sites and documents the progress compared to project schedule; reviews and approves construction documents, expenditures, and reports; assures project activities are in compliance with project specifications and City policies.
- Maintains project files, documents, and records; prepares reports on program activities and performance.
- Plans and prioritizes projects assigned to the Project Manager.
- Supervises projects and ongoing programs assigned to the Project Manager including maintenance, repair, construction and renovation of City facilities, buildings and building systems.
- Supervises and evaluates assigned staff; prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects; trains and instructs employees as required; meets with staff to review and discuss projects and work assignments.
- Manages emergency repair projects as needed.
- May be required to respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
