Current Assignment
This announcement will be used to establish an eligibility list of qualified candidates within the System Safety Department. Administers and maintains Maximo Health and Safety Environmental (HSE) system safety database system and performs Safety Management System (SMS) data analysis in compliance with FTA and CPUC regulations.
Participates in and implements future HSE expansion and enhancements and interfaces closely with the Office of CIO.
Organizes various safety reports and forms and enters data into databases.
Maintains safety training database.
Assists in analyzing station exiting data using complex Excel functions
Processes and logs Unusual Occurrence Reports (UOR) into database
Schedules safety committee meetings and prepares meeting minutes.
Assists in the publication of Operation Rules and Procedures (OR&P) and Operating Bulletins.
Assists in revision of safety policies, procedures, and plans.
Acts as department budget coordinator and processes purchase requisitions, Management Decision Documents (MDD), invoices, Go Card submittals, and other financial documentation.
Maintains facility inspection deficiency/correction tracking records. Submits Request For Maintenance´s (RFM).
Supports the Chief Safety Officer and System Safety staff as assigned.
Prepares requests for maintenance (RFM) using information developed by staff conducting inspections of district facilities. Tracks RFMs to completion. Prepares periodic reports showing RFM status and aging.
Enters information from reports received into District computer systems, prepares periodic reports showing incidents, trends, etc.
Assists in the procurement of prescription safety glasses for employees. Monitors requests and ensures District requirements are met. Prepares periodic reports documenting who has received glasses and when they received them.
Selection Process
This is a SEIU Local 1021 Bargaining unit position. However, All SEIU members must follow the "Bid Form Process", failure to comply will invalidate an employee's application.
The selection process will include a screening for minimum qualifications as listed in this posting and may additionally involve a skills/performance test, written exam, and/or a panel interview. Examples of DutiesPlans and organizes administrative or management studies related to the activities or the operations of the department to which assigned.
Determines analytical techniques and information gathering processes and obtains required information and data for analysis.
Analyzes alternatives and makes recommendations regarding such areas as equipment, cost analysis, policy or procedure modifications, etc.
Discusses findings with management staff and prepares reports of study conclusions.
Assists in the development and implementation of department or division goals and objectives.
Conducts a variety of special projects and programs related to the functions of the department or division to which assigned.
Assists in preparing, analyzing and monitoring the annual budget, including gathering information for budget development and monitoring expenditures.
Develops, implements and administers special administrative programs related to the functions of the department or division.
Coordinates activities with those of other District departments, such as Employee Relations, Safety, and Purchasing depending upon the nature of the project to which assigned.
Confers with representatives of other transit or governmental agencies, vendors and others, as required by project assignments.
Provides technical assistance to others on administrative and analytical matters.
May develop or utilize computer applications to assist with analytical studies.
Prepares technical reports, correspondence and other written materials.
Directs the work of support staff on a project or day-to-day basis.
Minimum QualificationsEducation :
A Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, accounting, economics, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience :
Two (2) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable professional level experience in administrative, management, systems, operations, budgetary or similar analyses.
Other Requirements for the BPOA position only :
Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, which will include fingerprinting and a polygraph inter/evaluation.
Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
May require a valid California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
Substitution :
Additional analytical experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. A college degree is preferred.
