About the Role:
As a Sr. Professional Engineer-Wastewater Engineer you’ll play a critical role in planning and growing out the city’s water infrastructure. Your work will ensure Fort Worth remains sustainable, efficient, and future-ready.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field
- Three (3) years as a licensed Professional Engineer (two (2) in a relevant field)
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with water/sewer models (InfoWater, WaterGEMS, or EPANET)
- Six (6) years in design, development or operation of water/wastewater systems
The Sr. Water/Wastewater Engineer job responsibilities include: - Evaluate developer studies and ensure water/sewer system capacity
- Perform modeling (InfoWater, WaterGEMS, EPANET) to support growth
- Lead wholesale capacity analysis and long-term infrastructure planning
- Troubleshoot complex issues using SCADA and flow meter data
- Collaborate across departments to deliver smart, resilient water solutions
- Support Capital Delivery, Master Planning, and Impact Fee studies
- Provide expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders
Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing and balancing.
Physical Demands Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
