The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Polygraph Examiner. This role is vital to our pre-employment process, involving the administration and interpretation of polygraph examinations to assess the credibility of our applicants. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting comprehensive written reports to LCSO Human Resources and Investigations polygraph personnel, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis.

As a Polygraph Examiner, you will play a n essential role in co nducting polygraph examinations and interviews, interpreting test results to form opinions on truthfulness or deception, and preparing detailed reports on examination results. You will also prepare examinees for testing, review background investigation materials, engage in pre-polygraph activities, and collaborate with relevant personnel. Additionally, you will submit materials for quality control and maintain polygraph equipment.

To excel in this role, you should be flexible and have up to date skills with a minimum of two years experience performing polygraph examinations. In addition, a comprehensive understanding of general office practices and law enforcement computer systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain investigative files is key. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to work independently, establish effective working relationships, and maintain confidentiality are crucial for success as a Polygraph Examiner.

The pay for this position is $48.0770 per hour.

In order to be considered, you must get a Letter of Support from your chain of command and submit the Letter of Support with your application by 11:59 pm on August 13th , 2025 . Please use the following process for your Letter of Support:
Submit your Letter of Intent to your direct supervisor.
Your direct supervisor will then write a Letter of Support and route that Letter of Support through your chain of command.
Your next level supervisor/manager endorses your direct supervisor's Letter of Support.
Your mid-level manager then endorses your Letter of Support.
Your Division Commander then endorses your Letter of Support.
Submit your Letter of Intent and fully endorsed Letter of Support along with your application.
