Centralized Timekeeping, Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator
Description
Position Summary As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients. We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status. Position Summary:Oversees all timekeeping, staffing, and scheduling needs for assigned department(s)/unit(s). The oversight includes, but is not limited to, compiling, reviewing, maintaining, editing, and recommending, all actions related to staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping for assigned department(s)/unit(s). Assists with the development of the master schedule and continuously processing, updating, and correcting all materials related to the master schedule and reporting.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Equivalent to graduation from high school and three (3) years of clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:None.
Additional Position Requirements Recent administrative experience as Office Specialist, Secretary, etc. Experience in Kronos and timekeeping. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical RequirementsKnowledge of:Staff scheduling practices and procedures; manual and electronic scheduling system; timekeeping systems; productivity and managing to targets, auditing time sheets and leave requests; record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques; business arithmetic; policies, procedures, and regulations governing area of assignment; solving practical problems; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:Communicating with all levels of staff and management, critical thinking, ability to tracking leaves and overtime; using initiative and judgment within established procedural guidelines; administrative writing skills; applying customer service techniques; effectively handling multiple tasks and related duties; telephone interaction with staff, and visitors; working in a fast paced environment; operational procedures for information dissemination; organizing own work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines; using computers and related software applications; using general office equipment such as phones, copiers and facsimiles; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or an eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
