Position DescriptionThe Multimedia Specialist designs content for media platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers. The position promotes a favorable and consistent image of the department and the university for internal and external audiences.
The ideal team member must be able to approach multimedia production with creativity, attention to detail, and technical expertise; demonstrate a strong personal drive to create engaging, high-quality content; and be able to easily approach others for pictures, quotes, interviews, etc. The team member should be able to display exceptional storytelling and communication skills, particularly in drawing out compelling narratives through interviews and distilling complex ideas into accessible and engaging content tailored for target audiences.
Major/Essential Functions- Create, edit, and refine multimedia content (e.g. video, audio, graphics, and presentations) and other deliverables for the Office of the President.
- Develop and maintain content strategies and calendars optimized for specific platforms and audiences.
- Contribute to campaign concepts, messaging approaches, and creative direction for multimedia and visual content.
- Write or co-develop scripts for videos, voiceovers, and other narrative content to ensure clarity, message alignment, and engagement.
- Prepare, operate, and tear down production environments for both live and recorded events.
- Monitor and engage with institutional and related social media accounts, and track engagement trends.
- Post scheduled content to institutional social media channels in accordance with strategic plans.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field plus one year related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five years.
