Job Location: Missouri Circuit Courts

The salary reflected represents the base pay for this position and does not include any differential for time-of-service pay for state tenure.

We are recruiting to fill a Senior Court Clerk position which is highly responsible advanced work using an electronic filing system in a court within the Missouri State Court System. Work involves responsibility for court case processing which may require the application of independent judgment and the application of statutes, policies and regulations, with minimal supervision. Work requires frequent interaction with the public providing exceptional customer service. Work may also involve financial record keeping within an automated case management system; providing direct support for a circuit judge or associate circuit judge providing a full range of responsibilities within the division's jurisdiction; or supervision of other staff.

Perform technical clerical work in the Probate - Auditing Department which will include the following: reading legal and court documents as they apply to the financial transactions in decedent and conservatorship estates; interpreting accounting methods, financial records, and supporting documents; making detailed calculations based on all audit findings; communicating audit findings to Probate staff, to attorneys, and their support staff. Analysis and appraisal of petitions and documents by interpreting the info provided, researching the law, and making a determination with regard to transferring a deceased person's assets without opening a full administration. Clerks in this department have a high degree of independence and discretion in the auditing and approval of settlements and review and granting of certain petitions in probate estates. Requires a working knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting practices and procedures.



Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning and two years of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties.

Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.

EMPLOYEES MAY BE EXPOSED TO : Evidence and testimony that may be disturbing, such as photographs of violent scenes and victims and or sexually explicit material; evidence that may include syringes, drugs, weapons and blood; the public who may potentially be verbally or physically abusive, allergens, such as perfumes and dust; and unpleasant odors, such as unwashed clothing or chemicals offered into evidence.
