Description

Under immediate supervision, performs routine and complex radiographic procedures in X-ray and Fluoroscopy.

Radiologic Technologist I is the entry level class of this series performing all standard and routine radiographic procedures (X-ray and Fluoroscopy) and may be trained in more complex procedures and specialized functional areas after one year of experience.

EDUCATIONAL/BILINGUAL INCENTIVE: Possible educational incentive of 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% based on completion of an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree. Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentive depending upon operational need and certification of skill.

Radiologic Technologist I is represented by the Service Employees' International Union (SEIU) and is eligible for overtime compensation.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and Fixed-term), Intermittent, and Extra Help vacancies. There is currently one (1) Regular vacancy at the West Ventura Clinic.

May be required to travel to various clinics on an as needed basis.

Education/Experience

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy permit issued by the State of California Department of Public Health and must be maintained throughout employment in this classification. OR

California Department of Public Health -Radiologic Branch Limited X-ray Technician Permit, including digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal.
