The Position

We are currently recruiting for one (1) Departmental Human Resources Analyst II vacancy in the Health Services Department, that focuses on recruitment. However, the eligible list resulting from this recruitment may also be used to fill other vacancies countywide.

Contra Costa County is seeking a dynamic and experienced Department Human Resources Analyst II for Contra Costa Health Services, a critical role at a time of growth and transformation. The HR Analyst II will be experienced in recruitment and talent acquisition and serve as a key partner in supporting personnel functions, with a primary focus on recruiting and onboarding medical providers. This position is essential in ensuring that CCH has the workforce needed to provide the highest standards of patient care. This is a full-time position based in Martinez, California.

CCH is the largest county department in Contra Costa County with over 5,100 employees. Our mission is to care for and improve the health of all people in Contra Costa with special attention to those who are most vulnerable to health problems. We provide services through nine operational areas: Behavioral Health, Contra Costa Health Plan, Emergency Medical Services, Environmental Health, Hazardous Materials, Health, Housing & Homeless Services, Public Health, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center & Health Centers and Detention Health.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or its equivalent professional human resources experience. Qualifying experience should include one or more of the following areas of responsibility such as conducting classification studies, compensation analysis, and recruitment and staffing.

Note: Professional Human Resources experience is defined as performing duties that require interpretation, independence of judgment and application of defined principles, practices and regulations.

AND

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A major in human resources management, business administration, public administration, industrial / organizational psychology, or a closely related field is preferred.

Selection Process:

1. Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

2. Online Multiple-Choice Test: Candidates that clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online test. You will need access to a computer with a reliable internet connection to participate in the assessment. This multiple-choice test will assess candidates on the required competencies and technical skills. (Weighted: 100%)

The Online Multiple-Choice Test will take place via computer (remotely) during the week of October 1, 2025.


If you apply for another recruitment that uses this exam and the test is scheduled within 6 months of the date you took the test this time, you will not have the option to re-take the exam.

CONVICTION HISTORY

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
