Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. This is an in-person position based at the Alta Mere location (2900 Alta Mere Drive) with ability to work a hybrid schedule following completion of the probationary period.

A Business Process Analyst II job is available with the City of Fort Worth Fire Department Emergency Services Division. This position serves as a technical liaison and project analyst with an emphasis on GIS applications and spatial data solutions. Creates and maintains reporting and dashboarding, with a special focus on GIS-based reporting, to support departmental objectives. Provides end-user support, conducts spatial analysis, and helps identify opportunities to enhance workflows through data visualization, analysis, and GIS technology. Acts as the primary point of contact for GIS-based reporting for the department and liaisons with other departments as requested to support other GIS needs.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
- Four (4) years of business experience and business analysis experience utilizing visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications: - Highly proficient in visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Proven experience with SQL.
- Experience with GIS applications in a government or public safety (Police, Fire, EMS) environment.
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Dispatch systems.
- Knowledge with ArcGIS.
The Business Process Analyst II job responsibilities include: - Utilizes historical dispatching data and GIS software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS) to perform complex spatial and network analyses, supporting optimized ambulance deployment, CAD functionality, and emergency response strategies.
- Designs, drafts, and maintains large-scale maps; creates, edits, and manages spatial datasets to support fire operations, planning, and incident analysis.
- Develops data visualizations and interactive dashboards by integrating data from various sources (e.g., databases, file systems, web APIs), enabling real-time insights for emergency services.
- Writes SQL queries and leverages reporting tools to create recurring and ad-hoc reports, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery to stakeholders.
- Builds and maintains automated data interfaces to extract, transform, and load (ETL) information between CAD, GIS, and other fire department systems.
- Performs rigorous quality assurance and ensures data integrity across GIS layers and related systems, maintaining compliance with city and departmental standards.
- Consults with fire department personnel to gather requirements, assess business needs, test GIS solutions, and recommend technology enhancements aligned with industry trends.
- Serves as the department's technical liaison with IT, other city departments, and vendors; attends relevant training to stay current with GIS innovations and public safety applications.

The successful applicant for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
