Pay Range: $18.00/hr. - $19.18/hr.

A full-time Custodian job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department at North Tri-Ethnic Community Center and Martin Luther King Community Center.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma /GED
- No experience
- Must pass drug test & physical
Preferred Qualifications: - At least 6 months' Custodial and/or maintenance experience.
The Custodian job responsibilities include: - Custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities; assist in other assigned manual labor tasks; respond to and resolve customer complaints, set up and take down tables and chairs for City functions and Community Center Events.
- Sweeping, moping, scrubs, waxes, strips and polishes floors including linoleum, tile and hardwood floors
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets; operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, sweepers, and scrubbers
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors and walls including window blinds and shutters; cleans and polishes metal fixtures; and sweeps breezeways if applicable
- Clean and sanitize drinking fountains and restrooms; may be required on occasion to move and store office furniture and equipment; clean and maintain the outside areas; sweeps curbs and collects trash; oversee community service workers in cleaning and sanitation duties if required
- Maintain inventory and orders janitorial supplies; keep accurate usage count and order supplies; perform other duties as required.
- Knowledge of housekeeping and sanitation methods; carpet cleaning methods and floor care, buffing, waxing methods; and safe work practices
- Skilled in organization, time management, and customer service; and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
