The General Services Agency is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Housekeeper/Custodian. The individual will be a team player, reliable, detail-oriented, flexible and possess the skills and experience to perform a variety of cleaning tasks ranging from routine cleaning to those tasks requiring knowledge and use of industrial cleaning equipment and solutions used in cleaning and maintaining walls, floor surfaces, carpeting, furniture and fixtures.

THE POSITION

The General Services Agency Facilities Maintenance team is committed to planning, developing, and maintaining clean, safe, sustainable, and high-quality working environments for over 4,500 County employees. The department is currently looking to fill one vacancy. The Housekeeper/Custodian position is subject to shift hours and may be eligible for shift differential compensation.

This position is required to participate in a full background investigation with the District Attorney's office upon job offer.

Unless otherwise provided, this position is part of the Classified Service of the County and is assigned to the Craft/Maintenance/Institutional bargaining unit for labor relations purposes.

Individuals who are in a full-time classification position are required to serve a twelve-month probationary period, which may be extended an additional six months, for a total of eighteen months.
Incumbents may also be subject to overtime, standby, callback, weekend, holiday and shift assignments as identified in their MOU (Memorandum of Understanding).
